Just a quick update to give you an idea of what is still left to be completed – it includes:
- Plants put in the tree pits/planters at the junction of Waldeck and Stanmore Roads (ASAP)
- Rock/boulder garden features, plaque, and repair to post & rail fence at the green space near allotments (ASAP)
- Decluttering Mannock/Downhills Park Road of unnecessary street signs and posts (ASAP)
- Installation of ‘children crossing’ images on the road surface on Mannock/Downhills before and after each intervention (ASAP)
- Planters (maintained by residents) placed at a number of the junctions (Late July/Early August)
- Installation of the ‘Art in the Community’ tiled signs (Early August)
- Final bits of line marking and related signage
There are a few other elements, but I am waiting on confirmation and will post information as soon as it is available.
Please can we have the dog bins and rubbish bins aswell.
We are working on it. That is one of the things that I am hoping to have confirmation of shortly. Thanks.
Glad to see they’ve cut the grass at Mannock/Downhills today. Very happy to help out with planting whatever’s meant to be going in the two big circles too with a bit of notice (or taking it into our own hands if they can just be filled with compost and made ready…)
Smashing piece in today’s Guardian too Ben, well done!

Hi – Grass has been cut (responsibility of Homes for Haringey) and the plaque about the railway line should be set into the path soon. The post and rail fence will also be repaired and the big yellow parking sign moved. The two big circles are for boulder features, but if residents are keen on some planting areas I am sure we can create an additional bed…perhaps along the fence of the sub-station? In addition in the area surrounding the greenspace and up through Mannock/Downhills Park Road the council will be ‘decluttering’, which means removeal of all those posts and unnecessary signs – it will look a lot better. Thanks.
