The next two DIY Streets events, which are happening in January at the church hall on Waldeck Rd, are as follows:
Saturday 15th January (11am-1pm): The opportunity to comment on the first set of designs which have been drawn up based on your comments and suggestions over the past few months. There will be numerous designs for each intervention, which you will have the opportunity to comment on and pick accordingly. This is a drop in session that will last two hours – however, we suggest you arrive close to eleven and have the time to look closely at the designs and discuss them with each other and Sustrans staff. There will be refreshments provided.
Saturday 29th January (11am-1pm): Ted Dewan (lead resident on the Oxford DIY Streets project) will give a talk on his experiences on the DIY Streets project. Ted is an enormously engaging and amusing speaker who should have you greatly enthused and energised at the end of his talk. Ted has kindly offered to come and speak for free and answer any resident questions afterwards. This is a fantastic opportunity to pick the brains of a fellow resident who has become a real source of valuable information regarding this kind of project – so much so, that he recently gave a similar talk to city/transport planners in Philadelphia.
