Streetfilms: Livable Streets

Donald Appleyard was a pioneering American urban designer who taught at the University of California, Berkeley. He wrote a book – Livable Streets – that argued streets have many social and recreational functions, which are significantly curtailed by car traffic. The film was put together by the New York based Streetfilms and there are several elements that are relevant to the neighbourhood.
