Block Work Vote

After further consultation with the council we have come up with two options for the block work pattern (raised tables & Langham Parade). We have worked closely with the community on potential designs and those ideas, along with other feedback, have resulted in these two options. Some designs proposed previously have not been possible to take forward for a variety of reasons, including the difficulty of laying a complex pattern.

We will also be at Langham Parade between 4pm-7pm on Monday 8th August (please note that on the notice board this is currently shown as the 8th July which is a mistake).

Please click on each pattern for a closer look –

OPTION 1b - Please note the ramps in this image will be in light grey blocks (not shown) to distinguish from road surface

  1. VB says:

Which colour grey brick is the most constracting to surrounding road surface? Option 1a or 1b ?

  2. The road surface surrounding the tables will be regular dark asphalt. We have discussed the issue of ensuring that the table stands out against the road – in particular when using the darker colour blocks – and we decided that it would be best to have the ramps, on the darker raised table, in a natural (light grey) block to ensure you can clearly distinguish between the table and the road surface.

I think alternating the two designs through the neighbourhood would be really nice.

Yellow lines will be present on some of the tables – we are aiming for the thin lines.

  3. VB says:

For confirmation – This is not shown as yet in above drawing Option 1b but is planned.

  4. Thats right – the image above has not been updated but I will make a note below.
