Bins

We are looking to include, if deemed necessary by the community, some additional bins in the neighbourhood. The budget for the project is at the limit, but we wanted to ascertain what thoughts residents had on potential locations. It isn’t the most glamerous question we have ever asked but it is one that can make quite a difference. Please let me know if you have any thoughts.

I think some more bins are needed at Langham Parade near the messyTurnpike Lane Store and Cafe on top of Langham Road. Also one on Waldeck Road maybe near the junction with Stanmore and maybe one Graham Green … so at least 4 if possible ?
+ a couple of dog bins?? ( this was talked about before). It raises awareness of responsible owners. Maybe one near Langham Close as so much is found there and one Langham Place near Ivatt Way / Allotments/ and if possible one Waldeck / Stanmore area.

Dog bins would be very welcome, the state of some of the streets is absolutely disgusting. There’s been a revolting mess on Downhills Park Rd for over a week now and there’s frequently huge piles on the approach to the station by the big hedge at Langham Close. But I think a couple of dog bins on every street would be an excellent visual reminder that people should take responsibility and clear up after their dogs. The signs on posts have no effect whatsoever.

I’m afraid it is not not just dog mess by the station ! It is an on going problem and the closed toilets do not help.. On the dog side all owners should be encouraged to pick up always and new dog bins would be great. Thanks Ben if you could update us on your plans…

The Waldeck/Stanmore junction could use a bin, even if it is just so residents can throw in some of the many bits of litter that seem to get blown in from West Green Rd.
